“For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” -Galatians 3:26-28
We’ve built our own walls in our local and Christian communities. We are the Methodists, and down the hall are the Catholics, and outside is where secular things happen. But Paul is telling us that we are now, through faith, one in Christ. We should use this unity through Christ to work together towards a common good. That is what is so powerful about Social Justice. We come together, from different denominations and backgrounds, to work together towards this common good. This is the forum where we can most easily forget about denominational differences and work together to help people, and to be God’s hands and feet in this world.
